Corewell Health East has been engaged in good faith negotiations with the Teamsters since June 24, 2025, with a goal of reaching a contract that provides fair and competitive terms for our nurses, so we can continue providing exceptional care to our patients without sacrificing our financial and operational sustainability.

Thus far, we have held 25 bargaining sessions and reached 22 tentative agreements. Recent discussions have focused on staffing, wages and wage structure and benefits. There is still a lot of work to be done but we are encouraged by the quality of discussions happening at the table.

Corewell Health is committed to providing our nurses and their families with honest, factual information about the ongoing negotiations. Since the Teamsters announced strike authorization, we have started adding some strike-related resources to the site as well. If the Teamsters do announce an intent to strike, every team member has the legal right to continue working, and this site will be updated with facts and resources to help you make your own decision.
