Today both sides spent time finding areas of potential compromise, and we were able to reach tentative agreements on several articles. We appreciated hearing feedback from nurses on some of the issues that are important to them.
However, there was very little discussion on the economic proposals, including wages, benefits, and staffing. The Teamsters’ proposals are projected to cost an additional $2B over the three-year contract, so candid discussions will be critical as we work toward a final contract.
We have two remaining bargaining sessions scheduled and resume negotiations on Feb 24. We again suggested meeting dates in March, but the Teamsters have not responded.
