Labor Relations Policy Statement

Corewell Health respects the rights of its team members to join or support the Teamsters or any other union, and to engage in related any other protected activity.  As a result, Corewell Health has permitted—and will continue to permit—solicitation, distribution, and other protected activity that has been conducted appropriately and consistently with Corewell Health’s lawful policies.  This includes team members’ right to solicit during non-working time outside of immediate patient care areas and to distribute during non-working time outside of immediate patient care areas and other non-working areas.   A team member may be on non-working time even if they are “on the clock” if, for example, they are on a paid break.

Corewell Health strictly prohibits surveillance of or retaliation against any team member for engaging in such activity, and no team member will experience an adverse consequence for exercising their rights. As a result, team members have openly engaged in such activity.   For example, team members who are not on working time have set up tables in public areas of the hospitals, distributed flyers and gift bags, signed cards in break rooms and common areas, shared QR codes, and more.  If you have any questions about protected, concerted activity, please feel free to contact the National Labor Relations Board.
