We were scheduled to meet with the Teamsters this morning, but the weather in the Northeast disrupted travel plans for their team’s lawyers, which delayed the start of negotiations for the week. We are scheduled to meet again tomorrow for a full day, and we added a negotiating session on Friday (2/27) to make up for some of the lost time.
The two sides met for a few hours this afternoon to discuss open proposals, and we were able to reach agreement on meal breaks and performance evaluations.
On the economic proposals, the Teamsters did provide a counterproposal related to retirement plans, but we did not engage in discussions related to any of the other economic proposals (wages, health care, staffing) that still need to be discussed. We asked the Teamsters to provide additional information on economic priorities and hope they are prepared to engage in those discussions tomorrow.
